Selling on Amazon in 2027: The Dates Already Set, and How Much Warning You Get

By Archit Mathur · Published · Last updated

Short answer

Amazon has dated early-2027 changes: US bundle rules on 11 January, the end of peak fulfilment fees on 14 January, DD+7 on 19 January for delayed European accounts it emailed in July, the end of extended US holiday returns on 31 January and a Belgian offer for Pan-EU FBA from 26 February. No advance bundle reminder is promised.

If you sell in Amazon's US, UK or EU stores, part of January 2027's work falls in November and December. A bundle that will not meet the US rule on 11 January has to be sold, removed or covered by a letter of authorization before then. AWD stock in Europe pays storage again from 1 January. A European account that Amazon emailed in July about a delayed DD+7 move may switch on 19 January, and seller-fulfilled offers to Amazon Business customers can be deactivated for a low Business Hour Delivery Rate once Amazon's 30-day warning email has run. December's US sales stay open to holiday returns until 31 January.

The warning Amazon has promised before these dates ranges from at least 30 days' notice to no promised reminder at all. This page was written on 28 October 2026 from Amazon's posts, help pages and emails, and the carriers' notices, as they read that day.

Already in force when 2027 starts

From 2 November 2026 the fuel and logistics-related surcharge (opens in a new tab) on European fulfilment fees rises from 1.5% to 2% for FBA in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium, and on 19 November for Multi-Channel Fulfillment in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Amazon had announced no change to the 3.5% US and Canadian rate by 28 October 2026, and neither announcement gives its surcharge an end date.

From the same 2 November, a seller in the US store with products in categories with enhanced safety listing requirements (opens in a new tab), such as children's products, cosmetic and ingestible products, and lithium battery products, needs commercial liability insurance of at least USD 1 million per occurrence and in aggregate, whether or not they reach USD 10,000 in monthly proceeds. The same notice says sellers based in Mainland China must now get their insurance through the Amazon Insurance Accelerator (AIA). From 2 November Amazon rejects newly submitted policies obtained elsewhere, and a valid policy submitted before then can be used until it expires.

Since 30 September 2026 seller-fulfilled offers have needed a Business Hour Delivery Rate of 90% to stay available to Amazon Business customers. Amazon's sources disagree on when deactivations start, which the January entry covers.

January 2027

January 2027, from Amazon's forum posts and help pages, Amazon emails sellers posted, FedEx and the Federal Register, as read on 28 October 2026.
DateChange, action and warning
1 JanuaryAWD storage fees resume in Europe (DE, FR, IT, ES, UK). Decide what stays in AWD. The launch post promises no reminder.
1 JanuaryThe October to December FBA storage rate ends (US). December is billed at that rate, usually 7 to 15 January, so leave room in January cash.
4 JanuaryFedEx list rates rise, with new fees on 18 January and zone changes on 1 February (US). Re-check seller-fulfilled label costs.
11 JanuaryMost single-ASIN bundles must be packaged by the original manufacturer or brand (US). Sell through, remove, or get a letter of authorization. No advance reminder is promised.
14 JanuaryLast day of holiday peak fulfilment fees (US, CA; selected FBA orders in UK and DE). Check the fees in force from the 15th.
15 JanuaryExtended holiday returns end for returnable Apple products bought 1 November to 31 December (US). Amazon says no action is required.
17 JanuaryTwo temporary USPS price rises are scheduled to end, and a weekly USPS fuel surcharge is reported for January (US). Check the January price tables and your negotiated rates.
19 JanuaryDD+7 for the delayed European accounts Amazon emailed in July, unless they chose 13 August. Find your confirmation email and hold cash back for the first weeks.
JanuaryBusiness Hour Delivery Rate deactivations, per an Amazon Business email sellers posted in the UK and Italy; the announcements said 30 October. A 30-day email is promised first. Check the rate in Account Health.
By 27 JanuaryAmazon's promised 30 days' notice of the Belgian offer for Pan-EU FBA is due (EU).
31 JanuaryExtended holiday returns end for other returnable items bought 1 November to 31 December (US). Some items keep longer windows, so keep a returns allowance past January.

Storage, 1 January

In Europe, Amazon's AWD launch post (opens in a new tab) waived AWD storage from 1 October to 31 December 2026 for Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK, and says "Storage fee resumes 1 January 2027." In the US, the Monthly inventory storage fees (opens in a new tab) page gives October to December as the peak period and says the fee is charged "typically between the 7th and 15th day of the month, in the month following when the fees were incurred", so December's storage, at the peak rate, is usually billed between 7 and 15 January. For non-dangerous standard-size inventory, the 2026 base rates were $2.40 per cubic foot for October to December and $0.78 for January to September, before any storage utilization surcharge. Amazon had not published 2027 rates by 28 October 2026.

Carrier prices, 4 and 17 January

FedEx (opens in a new tab) raises its list rates on 4 January, adds new fees on 18 January and changes zones on 1 February. Two temporary Postal Service price rises on Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage and Parcel Select are scheduled to end on 17 January. The holiday prices (opens in a new tab), an average 6.0% from 4 October 2026, "will roll back to current levels on January 17, 2027". The 8% transportation-related rise (opens in a new tab) that began on 26 April 2026 runs until 17 January 2027, "at which time prices will be restored to approved levels", unless the Governors of the Postal Service act again. The Postal Service has also published an FAQ (opens in a new tab) on a new fuel surcharge, "calculated as a percentage of the base postage" and "updated weekly", and Supply Chain Dive reported on 26 October 2026 (opens in a new tab) that it starts in January 2027. The FAQ page gives neither the rate nor the start date. Before assuming postage falls on the 17th, check the USPS price tables for that date and your own negotiated label rates.

Bundles, 11 January

From 11 January 2027, Amazon's announcement (opens in a new tab) says, "most product bundles listed as a single ASIN must be packaged by the original manufacturer or brand". The rule is for the US store, and Consumables are already under it. Amazon's Changes to program policies (opens in a new tab) page says "This requirement has been in place for consumables categories since late 2024", and the October 2024 notice (opens in a new tab) limited grocery, pet, baby, and health and beauty bundles from 14 October 2024 to those "created and offered by the original manufacturer". For a seller in those categories, 11 January is not a grace period.

The Product bundling policy (opens in a new tab) page gives Amazon's own example: a Dawn dish spray with refills that Dawn packaged together is allowed, and the same products packaged together by a seller are not. Three kinds of hard kit bundle are exempt: gift baskets in a gifting browse node, camera bundles listed under a Camera product type, and bundles covered by a letter of authorization from the brand owners or manufacturers of every product in them. For brand owners and authorized resellers, bundles built with the Virtual Bundles tool are not packaged together, so the rule does not reach them, though the policy page warns the tool "may not yet be available for your store, brand, or fulfillment channel combination".

For FBA stock in a bundle that will not comply, the announcement offers two routes: sell it before 11 January, or create a removal order. A noncompliant bundle after that date is deactivated and becomes a listing violation in Account Health, and the letter of authorization is uploaded there "if your bundle is identified as noncompliant after January 11". A seller replying under the announcement read that as having to wait for the takedown: "My understanding is that this means we would need to wait until the listing is taken down, then potentially lose several days or even weeks while Amazon reviews and verifies the authorization letter." Another seller in the same thread asked "Jan. 11th?" and wrote "Im already getting violations on my Account Health for this."

No advance reminder is promised

In 2024 Amazon told Consumables sellers it would give "30 days’ notice through email and the Account Health dashboard" before suppressing a noncompliant bundle. The 2027 announcement says noncompliant bundles "will be deactivated and become listing violations on your Account Health dashboard. We will also notify you via email." It promises no reminder before 11 January.

Peak fees, 14 January

Peak fulfilment fees end on 14 January 2027 in the US (opens in a new tab), for FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime, and in Canada (opens in a new tab). In the UK and Germany, Amazon charges a festive peak fulfilment fee (opens in a new tab) on selected FBA orders over the same dates, with the fuel and logistics surcharge on top. The end of the peak fee was the only fee change Amazon had dated for 15 January by 28 October 2026, so check the fees on your own products from that day.

Holiday returns, 15 and 31 January

On Amazon.com, a returnable item bought from 1 November to 31 December 2026 can come back until 31 January 2027, or 15 January for Apple products, whether the order was fulfilled by Amazon or by you; the 15 October announcement (opens in a new tab) says "existing return and refund conditions remain unchanged". It also says "This policy will apply every year" and "No action is required from you". The 31 January date ends the extended holiday window only. Amazon's return policy (opens in a new tab) gives some items 90, 180 or 365 days, and says "It can take up to 30 days for us to receive and process your return." December's returns can therefore reduce cash and profit into February and later, so size the returns allowance to each order's own window. Amazon has not given the purchase dates for the 2027 holiday season.

DD+7, 19 January

DD+7 holds the proceeds of each order until seven days after delivery, or after the latest estimated delivery date for a shipment without valid tracking. In July 2026 Amazon emailed a group of European sellers whose migration had been delayed, offering 13 August 2026 or 19 January 2027. On the UK forum, Amazon moderator KJ_Amazon confirmed both dates (opens in a new tab) and wrote that the January option "applies to sellers, or specific storefronts within a seller's account, that have not yet been migrated to DD+7". The German version of the email, as a seller posted it on sellerforum.de (opens in a new tab), blames the delay on a technical problem and says no further extensions will be offered after 19 January 2027. Amazon's follow-up email, which another seller posted there on 12 August (opens in a new tab), told sellers who had stated no preference that Amazon had chosen the latest date for them.

Those emails set the dates for the accounts they reached, and say nothing about when any other account still off DD+7 will move. Your own confirmation email gives your date. In the UK reply KJ_Amazon also wrote: "Expect reduced cash flow for first 7-20 days as transactions become subject to DD+7." The next sentence of the reply gives a different span, a "10-14 day transition period". An Italian seller who received the first email asked on Amazon's forum (opens in a new tab): "Perchè amazon non lo ha inserito nelle notifiche ?" ("Why didn't Amazon put it in the notifications?"). KJ_Amazon replied that Amazon had sent the email the day before, and sellers on sellerforum.de were posting it on 14 July.

Business Hour Delivery Rate, January

Business Hour Delivery Rate is the share of seller-fulfilled shipments to Amazon Business customers at commercial addresses that are delivered on the first attempt within business hours, over a 14-day window. Unless the customer has set their own, the default hours (opens in a new tab) are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the US and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the UK, Monday to Friday. Amazon's forum announcements in the US (opens in a new tab) and the UK (opens in a new tab) said offers below 90% could be deactivated for business customers from 30 October 2026. An Amazon Business team email that a UK seller posted (opens in a new tab) on 2 October says: "To give you time to prepare, we won’t deactivate any listings for BHDR compliance until January 2027." It continues, "At that time, if your offers are at risk, we’ll email you 30 days before deactivation to give you time to improve." An Italian copy (opens in a new tab) posted the same day says the same. The email was posted on the UK and Italian forums, and the US announcement still gives 30 October. The US help page promises "we will notify you 30 days in advance of deactivation". No source gives a deactivation date for your account, so work from the date in your own warning email. FBA offers are unaffected either way.

Both announcements said shipments sent with Automated Handling Time, Shipping Settings Automation and Amazon Buy Shipping together are protected, and the BHDR FAQ (opens in a new tab) adds that the first carrier scan must be on time. The US help page also says that sellers with fewer than 20 Amazon Business shipments to commercial addresses in the 14-day window are not affected, which neither announcement said.

February to April

From 26 February 2027, Amazon's Pan-EU announcement (opens in a new tab) says, "you must also have an active offer in Belgium for Pan-EU FBA products, at enrollment". The Netherlands requirement came first, on 3 September 2026. Amazon says it will notify sellers "at least 30 days before" the Belgian requirement takes effect, which puts that notice on or before 27 January. Products restricted in Belgium, products that do not meet local language labelling or packaging rules, accounts temporarily deactivated in the Belgian store and products without a Belgian detail page can qualify for an exemption.

Seller-fulfilled templates move to automated transit times by April 2027. In the US, Amazon's email, as a seller posted it on 26 August 2026 (opens in a new tab), says "By April 2027, all parcel shipping templates for Fulfilled by Merchant offers will be updated with automated transit times for standard shipping". Seller Fulfilled Prime, Premium Shipping, freight templates and templates already on Shipping Settings Automation are excluded, and "You’ll receive an email 14 days before your shipping templates are updated". April is a deadline, and accounts can move earlier. On 1 October 2026 a US seller posted that their email gave 14 October (opens in a new tab): "This was not suppose to be required on FBM till April 2027!"

In the UK, a seller posted on Amazon's forum on 25 September 2026 (opens in a new tab) that on 23 September almost all of their orders came through with same-day dispatch and Royal Mail Tracked 24 as the delivery promise, though no buyer had paid for premium delivery. The post began: "I haven't seen any communication or posts regarding this and was caught totally off guard this week by Amazon." In the reply the seller posted, Selling Partner Support said the change was "most likely the result of Shipping Settings Automation (SSA)", which Amazon is "rolling out to all sellers through April 1, 2027". It added that sellers are emailed 14 days before their account is upgraded, recommended checking spam and junk folders for that email, and said "once your account has been fully upgraded, you can no longer opt out of SSA."

The 2026 US fee schedule came with 92 days' notice. Amazon's notice of the 2026 US changes (opens in a new tab) said: "You have at least 90 days before any fee increases take effect." If the 2027 notice keeps to that, an increase announced on 1 November 2026 could take effect no earlier than 30 January 2027. The surcharges came faster. Amazon introduced the 3.5% US surcharge (opens in a new tab) 15 days after announcing it, and the European rise to 2% takes effect 14 days after its announcement. The first European fee cuts for 2026 came 13 days after the 2 December 2025 announcement (opens in a new tab), and the next changes 61 days after it.

Amazon's notice for these changes ranged from 13 to 189 days. The table above gives the dates.

What has no date yet

Several dates that sellers plan around had no Amazon announcement by 28 October 2026: the 2027 fee schedules for the US, Canada, the UK and the EU stores, Prime Day 2027, the inbound cutoffs for the 2027 holiday season, the 2027 peak fee dates, and the purchase dates for the 2027 holiday return window. The 2026 US schedule was announced on 15 October 2025 and took effect on 15 January 2026, and its notice pointed sellers to the Revenue Calculator and Fee and Economics Preview report, "which are being updated with the 2026 rates". The European one was announced on 2 December 2025, with fee cuts from 15 December 2025 and further changes from 1 February 2026. Amazon posted both on the Seller Forums.

No Selling Partner API notification reports a change to the ordinary fee rates on an ASIN. The one fee-related type, FEE_PROMOTION (opens in a new tab), announces time-limited fee promotions when they become active. Notifcentral's fee alert polls instead. Every six hours it compares Amazon's fee estimates for every active listing on your connected marketplaces and reports a change to any of eight fee types, so it shows a new 2027 fee on your own ASINs within about six hours of Amazon's estimate moving. It cannot see an announcement before the fee moves, and storage is not one of the eight.

Dates as of 28 October 2026

Frequently asked questions

Could 2027 US fee increases start on 15 January 2027?

Amazon had not announced a 2027 schedule by 28 October 2026. Its 2026 notice said sellers had "at least 90 days before any fee increases take effect". Had Amazon repeated that notice, increases from 15 January 2027 would have been announced by 17 October 2026. The sentence was in the 2026 notice and is not a standing rule.

Does the 11 January 2027 bundle policy apply in the UK or Europe?

Amazon announced it on the US Seller Forums, and the Product bundling policy page says it applies to selling in the United States. No equivalent announcement for the UK or the EU stores had appeared by 28 October 2026. Read your own store’s bundling page before relying on either.

Does the extended holiday return window apply in the UK or EU stores?

Amazon’s 15 October 2026 announcement and its Extended Holiday Returns policy page both cover Amazon.com only. No announcement of the same window for the UK or the EU stores had appeared by 28 October 2026, so check the returns policy of each store you sell in.

How do I get offers back after a Business Hour Delivery Rate deactivation?

Amazon’s BHDR FAQ says to download the rate report, click "Resolve Issues" in Account Health and submit the specific steps you are taking to improve, with a demonstration that you understand the requirements. Amazon reviews the request "within 72 hours". After a repeat violation, if the rate is still below the minimum, reactivation needs Automated Handling Time, Shipping Settings Automation and Amazon Buy Shipping together for at least 180 days.

Can I still move my DD+7 migration date?

For the delayed European accounts Amazon emailed in July 2026, the German version of the email asked sellers to choose by 27 July 2026, a date that has passed, and says no further extensions will be offered after 19 January 2027. KJ_Amazon wrote on the UK forum that a storefront already migrated to DD+7 cannot be reversed.

Do I have to store inventory in Belgium for Pan-EU FBA?

No. Amazon’s announcement says you are currently not required to store inventory in the Netherlands or Belgium to take part in Pan-EU FBA. From 26 February 2027 Pan-EU FBA products need an active Belgian offer at enrolment, and local fees apply in Belgium when inventory placement is active in Germany or France.

Amazon does not send a notification when the FBA fee on one of your ASINs changes. Notifcentral pulls your fee estimates from the Selling Partner API every six hours, compares each ASIN against its previous snapshot, and pushes an alert showing the old amount, the new amount, and the per-unit difference. It covers eight fee types across all your listings, with no ASIN limit.
