Amazon changed your FBA fee. Know the same day.

Short answer

Amazon does not notify sellers when an FBA fee changes. Notifcentral pulls your fee estimates from the Selling Partner API every six hours, compares each ASIN against its previous snapshot, and pushes an alert showing the old amount, the new amount, and the per-unit difference. It covers eight fee types across all your listings, with no ASIN limit.

Every 6 hours

Notifcentral snapshots your fee estimates on a six-hourly cycle and diffs each ASIN against its last known values. A change to any of the eight monitored fee types raises an alert with the before and after figures attached.

What it costs to find out late

A remeasurement can double a fee overnight.

The single most common fee complaint on the Amazon seller forums is a product being re-measured or re-weighed in the warehouse, pushing it into a higher size tier. Sellers routinely report the change landing with no notice and no email - they find it weeks later while reconciling a settlement.

reported on the seller forums: $40.43 -> $88.93 per order after a remeasurement

Small per-unit changes add up fast.

$1.49/unit sounds minor. At 600 units a month that is $894 gone every month you do not notice, and $10,728 over a year - on one ASIN.

$1.49/unit x 600 units = $894/mo undiscovered cost

You can dispute it. But only if you catch it.

Amazon will re-measure on request and can reimburse an overcharge, but the case is far easier to argue while the change is recent and the numbers are in front of you. Speed is the whole game.

What to do when it fires

  1. Check the dimensions Amazon has on file

Open the ASIN in Seller Central and compare Amazon's recorded length, width, height and weight against the actual packed product. A size-tier jump with unchanged packaging is the classic signature of a bad measurement.

  2. Request a remeasurement (Cubiscan)

If the recorded dimensions are wrong, open a case asking for the unit to be re-measured. Amazon runs the product through a Cubiscan and updates the record.

  3. Ask for the overcharge back

Once corrected dimensions are confirmed, ask for reimbursement on units already fulfilled at the wrong tier. Reference the date the fee changed - which is exactly what the alert gives you.

  4. Re-check the margin at the new fee

If the fee change is legitimate, the question becomes whether the ASIN still clears its margin floor at the new number. Reprice or delist deliberately, rather than discovering it in next quarter's P&L.

Questions about fba fee changes alerts

Within six hours. Amazon offers no push notification for fee changes, so Notifcentral polls your fee estimates on a six-hourly cycle. That is the honest ceiling - any tool claiming instant fee alerts is not getting the data from Amazon any faster than this.

Eight: Referral, FBA Fulfillment, FBA Pick & Pack, FBA Weight Handling, FBA Order Handling, FBA Delivery Services, Variable Closing and Fixed Closing. Referral is compared as a percentage; the rest are compared as absolute per-unit amounts.

No. Every active listing on every connected marketplace is monitored, whether you have 10 ASINs or 10,000. There is no per-ASIN pricing.

Referral and closing fees apply to FBM listings and are monitored. The FBA-specific fulfilment fees only exist on FBA listings.
