Clustered buyer cancellations often precede a listing or pricing problem - a mispriced variation, a stock discrepancy, or a delivery estimate that slipped. Seeing them in real time turns a settlement-day surprise into a same-day fix.
Order signal makes every other alert legible.
A Buy Box loss matters more when you can see orders stop. Watching sales and losses on the same feed is how you tell a quiet day from a broken listing.
What to do when it fires
Set a minimum item count
If every single-unit sale is noise, set a floor so only meaningful orders page you. The filter lives in the app under Filter rules.
Filter by fulfilment channel
FBA and FBM orders can be alerted separately, which is useful when only one channel needs a human in the loop.
Investigate cancellation clusters
Several cancellations on one SKU in a short window is worth opening the listing for, even when each one looks routine.

Only if you configure it that way. Order alerts support SKU filters, a fulfilment-channel filter, and a minimum item count, and the whole category can be switched off in Settings while keeping every other alert type on.
